Senior Design Engineer
Joop is a creative design engineer. His experience is in the development of medical and consumer products, production machinery and test equipment, working in the fields of mechanical design, electro mechanical design, thermal and stress analysis, fluid mechanics and chemical engineering. To see one of his most recent designs, visit: www.backcaretrainer.com. During his 20 years at Arthur D. Little, now TIAX LLC, he designed patented products like a Paint Colorant Dispenser. This dispenser is now being used in most Home Depot stores. Medical products, as an example, included the design of a Reusable Intraossious Device, for quick vascular access through the sternum. A key feature: Completely mechanical - no electrical power. Before coming to the United States, Joop worked as an Environmental Test Engineer at Philips in the Netherlands. This work involved the field of shock and vibration testing, corrosion, vacuum, and temperature testing.
Joop has a B. S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Hogere Technische School, Utrecht, the Netherlands. He also pursued graduate courses at Northeastern University, Boston, MA. He is fluent in several languages, including Dutch, Spanish, German and some French.
He likes to spend his free time on his sailboat “La Brisa”
